Designers Notes:

This site is constently growing, keep a eye out for new pages.

This story module started off as a simple level up map. Like all things, I couldn’t just make a simple room, it had to have characters even if they seemed pointless. From there it grew to a social server and base for the Mind Takers Guild. Once again, I couldn’t keep it simple and slowly a story started to form.

The module still has the same design plan as the original social server. It is a open vault so people can be who and what they want. Weapons are still custom built but so are the monsters. You don’t loose anything when you die, its set for level 20 characters. Instead it concentrates on the story and characters in this ever changing world.

While there is a character called Quan, it is not based on me. Instead of suddenly changing the name of the Manor, I turned Quan into a character and now I don’t even relate to him as being me. If anything, he is more closely related to Lord British from Ultima, and he has suddenly disappeared, much like Lord British did in Ultima 5.

A lot of things in The Manor relate to things from my past, the Stoneway inn is offcourse another reference to Ultima. The music comes mostly from C64 remixes. Even a few of the NPC’s are based on people I know. Ansor name is from Blake’s 7, for those who don’t know who Ansor was from B7, he was the creator of Orac.

Offcourse there’s plenty of new characters in this story, Howin, Red and all the Gnolls are brand new creations. Skara has been floating around in my mind for a very long time, and now he finally gets his story told. Raka popped up from nowhere along with the whole race of cats. Hanner is another old character who’s been around for nearly 10 years now.

Once the Demon and Angles story is complete, this world won’t die but will continue with a new plot and I hope Bioware will release a Neverwinter Nights 2, sometime in the future.

Maybe, if I am dedicated, I will be able to create my own 9 game epic, much like what Richard Garret did with his Ultima series.
