Mojang $2.5B Deal Confirmed
And I am fine with this. You be a idiot not to sell something like Minecraft for 2.5b
https://mojang.com/2014/09/yes-were-being-bought-by-microsoft/
If I was in that situation I would do the same. Just in my case I would hold onto certian IP about Characters and World but for 2.5b you can have the rest of the game.

Minecraft 1.7.2 released
The update is so massive, I'll just link the wiki:
http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Version_history#1.7.2
Server is now running 1.7.2 but on the orginal map. The nether has a transport system to the ' Frontier '
The Frontier is a area far enough away from explored areas that it has all the new content.
Eventually I'll setup a commandblock transport system between the original area's and the Frontier.

Minecraft server updated to 1.6.4
Completely missed this update as I was running the Oculas Rift build of minecraft and didn't have autoupdate running.
New features:
New features:
- Includes 1.6.3 fixes.
- 1.6.3 skipped, released as pre-release only.[2]
- Added server.properties option player-idle-timeout
- Kicks players from server when idle for that many minutes, defaults to disabled (0).
- MC-15547 – Structures (witch huts, nether fortresses etc.) don't get saved with the world file
- In order for current structures (Witch Huts, Nether Fortresses, etc.) to be saved to the world file, the player must load the appropriate chunks within the game manually. The game will not automatically scan worlds and update structure data globally. After this is completed, structures will be compatible in all snapshots starting at Snapshot 13w37b
- Fixed handshake exploit

Yamama Minecraft Update
The Yamama minecraft server can now run custom jar files, this means mods. At the moment I don't have any plans but I might look into running a bukkit craft server again to enable mods.
The host is also offering cheap VM Servers which I will upgrade to if Starbound offers a linux dedicated server.

Minecraft 1.2 Tomorrow
Tis the session to be patching ......
Minecraft 1.2 is out tomorrow, you can get the preview build now but the client will auto update offically tomorrow.
I can't wait.
Also more news on the server side API for mods:

Also more news on the server side API for mods:
The plan is to build a fresh server API, and then extend it to support client-side modding (in one way or another). We will try to make it easy for bukkit users to convert if they wish to do so, but backwards compatibility is not guaranteed. We will, however, help bukkit to be compatible with 1.2, to avoid having a long gap while you wait for the official Minecraft server to catch up.

Minecraft 1.0 is here
Notch went on stage, and after much procrastnation by a girl with pink hair which was really annoying, he pulled a switch and utterly killed the minecraft server.
A few mins later they came back and 1.0 was here.
