Another MMO that offered life time subscription drops its subs. In this case only a few months after release.
The Secret World is now Buy to play meaning it no longer requires a sub. You can still subscribe and get leveling bonuses, store discounts and 'free' points to spend on the store each month.
The game will now instead release DLC which is new story missions and arcs.
They should have done this at the beginning and alarm bells always go off if a MMO offers life time subs & a cash store.
Hopefully the buy to play model is here to stay. Subscriptions are worthless these days and I rather have company's work for my money instead of sit around for 8 sucking money out of me then release a expansion at full price.

Runescape: Player owned Ports
If your graphics engine is dated, you only have 3 options when it comes to promoting your MMO:
1) Make a expensive CGI video that shows no gameplay.
2) Hire famous people to talk about the game.
3) Dress your devs up as pirates and sing a song
